Duke's Restricted Regions List ("RRL") identifies areas outside the United States where the health, safety and security of travelers are deemed to be at elevated risk or where U.S. Sanctions apply.
Duke's Restricted Regions List (“RRL”) identifies areas outside the United States where the health, safety and security of travelers are deemed to be at elevated risk or where U.S. Sanctions and/or “War Risk” stipulations apply (see *countries).
Duke Students, Medical Residents and House Staff are prohibited from traveling to the locations on the RRL unless and until they are granted a waiver of the restriction. See the Duke Global Travel Policy for further information.
Please note: a "border" or "coastal" area refers to an area within 22km (~14 miles) on either side of the internationally recognized border between countries or within 22km (~14 miles) of the ocean/sea coast.
Changes to the locations listed within the Duke RRL are made on a regular basis and announced via the "Duke Travel Policy Update" listserv. If you are not subscribed to this listserv but would like to be, please email travelpolicyupdates-request@duke.edu to subscribe.
